Upping the Mones, Lowering the Moans! Plus Fermented Veges!

Went though a lot of hormonal insanity for the past month and a half. With having the feeling of death hovering over my body and mind, only Those of you who have had hypothyroidism may relate to that feeling.

I have been reintroducing things like rice, potatoes and the occasional gluten free bread for the past few months and we had to up my dose. Which sucks, but, at the same time I do not know if that is the reason we had to up it. Plus, I was miserable without carbs.

Had a beer not too long ago, the results, mass muscles spams the next day. sheesh, however today I feel great. I taught Nia today and life is good!

Speaking of wheat - was curious about this blog that Helen Terry was posting it is called the 60 Day Cleanse and as I am always looking for answers, so I have been poking around her blog. http://somaranch.com/60day/2012/5/7/day-7-wheat.html.

I grew up with bread, cereal, whole grains and pasta being a daily staple part of my diet and was horrified to discovered wheat was a main contributor to my fatigue and cloudy mind.

Then she goes into fermented veggies...

Fermented Veggies = a great antidote to wheat consumption.
As part of my 80/20 approach: 80% “on”, 20% “play”, I have been known to thoroughly enjoy a slice of pizza. Provided I eat a couple of tablespoons of Fermented Veggies before I sleep, I awake refreshed and well.


My initial response was, "what????" Salty fermented Veges like pickles or cabbage. salty right?

Ok, well I did more research:

Now, the above gave recipes like whey, which is like cow milk.... Ack... so, I did more research and found a website that gives recipes without whey...

So, my next experiment is to make fermented veges and see how I feel? I will let you know more down the road.

    Protein transports thyroid hormone to all your tissues. Eating a bit of protein with every meal can help normalize thyroid function.
